It can be overwhelming to try to find the right counselor. The choices are many and the credentialing initials often don't make sense. More importantly, this professional relationship is unlike any other in that you want to feel safe to be able to share your most difficult, tender, frightening, or vulnerable moments, safely...with a stranger! It's hard to know how to go about making such a big decision. It's for this reason I offer a free initial consultation to give you an opportunity to decide how you feel about my therapeutic approach and personality. At the end of the first session, I'll talk to you about my intial ideas around a treatment plan. If you don't feel comfortable, I'll happily help make referrals to professionals that may be a better fit for you. My therapeutic approach is eclectic, which simply means that I draw from a variety of techniques and approaches to match my skills with your needs. I hold a loving, nonjudgmental space for my clients and work to create a safe place for growth and insight. My clients find that we laugh as often as there are tears and I respond, always, honestly and with authenticity. I consider this a sacred journey to which I have been invited to come along and I truly consider the opportunity a precious privilege. I won't be able to fix your life for you, but I will absolutely be there to help you heal your own life and find your own tools and strengths to carry on, make different choices, find joy and happiness in your life.
